Friday night I was working my regular ambulance shift, it was extremely busy, more so than normal. All jobs were Red/Purple (Highest Priority) and they just kept coming in, we didn’t even get a break between finishing one cardiac arrest to attending the next. It was full on I tell you.
The following morning my partner and kids were here as it was there weekend with me, so we come up with some plans. We decided that we wanted to go to the final Speedway meeting of the season which also had the largest firework display in the area at the end of the races.
It was an eventful evening, lots of crashes and even one car caught fire and the driver had to be rescued, lucky the team on the track were quick to react. My daughter started getting bored halfway through and had a little nap on me, which was nice. At the end of the racing we all sat back and enjoyed some truly epic fireworks, which made the while night worth it.
The next day we relaxed to begin with then walked to the markets and the Historic Village were I live, there was food, crafts and a bit of everything there being sold. We came back with 6 big avocadoes. Later on that day I took the kids back to their mothers house and headed back home( She lives only 20 minutes away).
Today I have nothing on this morning or afternoon so I am going to potter around the house doing odd jobs. This evening I am working ambulance again, a 7pm-7am shift, however this time I am working out of town, so not at my usual station as they’re short staffed out there.
Medical wise I have been fairly stable, only slight bouts of anxiety and/or depression. I have been busy and I think that has helped a lot. I am hoping I can continue getting better, I just want to feel “normal” again.
What did you guys get up to over the weekend?
