Armageddon’s Children by Terry Brooks

I’ve decided to start amping things up at my blog and talking about some of the things that help with my bipolar. As you will already know I enjoy blogging, I also enjoy watching TV and reading, since I have plenty of time on my hands.

So that brings me to my current read, which is Armageddons Children by the amazing Terry Brooks. Brooks is a fantasy writer, and a bloody good one I must say. A couple of years back I started off by reading the Sword of Shannara, which was very similar to Lord of the Rings. Following on from that I finished the series by reading The Elfstones of Shannara (Now a TV Series) and The Wishsong of Shannara. Then I didn’t read for a while.

Recently, I have jumped back on the bandwagon and picked up Armageddons Children which is set some thousands of years before the events of The Sword of Shannara, it documents the life and journey’s of a few characters who are trying to survive this new world. It has only been 50 years since the Great War which decimated the world population. Now pockets of people live in “strongholds”, others live on the streets in makeshift homes and others have “mutated” into different creatures all together.

That’s all I will tell you, I don’t want to spoil it but it is without doubt a must read. I would even recommend reading this series first before The Sword of Shannara.
